FAQ

How do you grow your produce?

We grow our greens hydroponically inside modular vertical farms. Powered entirely by renewable energy (a combination of hydroelectric, solar and wind), our farms use recirculating systems that consume up to 90% less water than traditional field farming. Each chamber is incredibly efficient, yielding the equivalent of 1.5 acres of farmland and producing 1,000 heads of lettuce or up to 500 pounds of microgreens weekly.

While we are not certified organic, all Nimble Farms produce uses organic, Non-GMO seeds and we never spray any pesticides or herbicides.

Our greens are always locally grown within 50 miles of your supermarket and distributed hours or days after harvest, so they should last longer than other brands. Living lettuce typically lasts several weeks in your fridge if you keep it attached to the root, while cut herbs and microgreens are best eaten soon after purchase.

Our greens and herbs are never sprayed with pesticides or herbicides, and they are not triple washed, as other greens brands usually are. We recommend that you give our greens and herbs a rinse before consuming.

Our farms are located throughout Upstate NY – check out our “Our Farms” section to learn more.

We don’t – we grow hydroponically, in a variety of different soilless grow media enriched with a nutrient-rich water at the roots. This allows us to grow indoors all year round efficiently and precisely.

We partner with aligned developers and investors to build new farms in communities that can use more fresh, local food. E-mail us at info@nimblefarms.com and let’s chat!
